GLORIA STAHLHUT
Gloria Stahlhut is a third generation quilter and belongs to three quilt guilds. It was difficult for her to find quilt shops that carried wide backings and the fabric design choices were limited. This is where the idea of creating Quilted Glo originated. Quilted Glo began in 2007 and is an e-commerce company. She also vends at quilt shows. Gloria carries a large variety of quilt shop quality wide backings. She later expanded her merchandise to include panels, pre-cuts, tools, kits, and specialty items.
WORKSHOP
“Fast and Easy Appliqué” This is a good workshop for those who love appliqué and for those who are cautious about appliqué due to using other techniques.
2:00 – 4:30 pm | $25.00 covers the class and all materials | Workshop Registration: Contact Linda Wright at 574.699.7433 or gslinda6@aol.com.
Gloria Stahlhut will share samples and techniques for a new appliqué method. This method prevents fabric from raveling, so there is no need to stitch the appliqué. However, if you still like the appliqué look, it can be stitched after the application.
In the workshop, you will create 2 different samples, one using appliqué applying fabric to paper and the other applying fabric to fabric. You may choose from a Valentine’s Day design or other offered designs or create your own.
Materials are included and you will receive your own adhesive so that you can leave the class with creative ideas when you get home.
Supplies to bring: scissors
Supplies provided: irons and ironing boards or, if you want, you may bring your own
