Program Change:
Gloria Stahlhut is not available to present a program as scheduled due to a close family member having surgery on the same day.
In her place, KPQG President Linda Wright arranged for Connie Lancaster with Quilts Plus to present a program and sell merchandise. Connie will present the following:
“Leftovers – Dealing with the Remains. Just find a good recipe!”
In this 45-minute program, we will explore ways to deal with leftover fabrics that accumulate after each project is completed. There will be a Q & A time after the lecture.
Connie Lancaster’s Biography:
“My first quilted item was the ubiquitous tote bag, 12” blocks, hand quilted. Thankfully, that wasn’t the last and only! At first, I told myself I wasn’t going to ‘become a quilter’, because I saw what ‘quilters’ did…they collected fabric and only sometimes produced a finished item!
Well, I became a professional quilter about 35 years ago, making quilts and quilting for others just to make a little fabric money. I began to teach classes and work at Quilts Plus in the mid-90s. There, I could help other quilters get addicted, learn new skills, and increase their knowledge of all things quilting. Eventually, the shop purchased a long arm and my long arm career began. I love bringing quilts to life with great quilting designs!
In March of 2017, I became the fourth owner of Quilts Plus, but had to close the shop due to personal issues. I am now online only at www.quiltsplus.com. I am working toward being able to open another shop in the future, but for now, you can find me at local shows and online.”
Other KPQG Activity: Show ‘n’ Tell & short business meeting. Bring your ”show ‘n’ tell” and, in addition, any scrappy quilts which fit the theme of the program, Leftovers, fabrics remaining after finished project.
