Susan K. Cleveland is a quilter, quilt designer, author, teacher, and inventor. She will teach two half-day workshops, a one-hour program, and one half-day lecture/demo at our quilt show on Friday, October 5 & Saturday, October 6.
The 3 hour lecture/demo Susan is teaching is Simple Quilting with Style: Alternatives to Free-motion Quilting. With lively projected demos you will learn to prepare a quilt top for a successful finish; discover secrets of ditch quilting; learn when and how to mark or not mark a quilt; study stitching with heavy threads; get excited about big stitch hand quilting, bobbin quilting and couched quilting. These skills empower those whose free-motion skills are less than stellar but may be combined with free-motion quilting as well. Quilt your quilts with style and techniques you enjoy the most!
What is a lecture/demo?
- A lecture/demo includes up to four day’s worth of hands-on class material in only a few hours.
- Handouts are provided and students need to only bring paper and pen for taking notes.
- Breaks occur every hour to examine quilts and visit.
- The latest technology is used to incorporate a video camera and projector with lively demos so everyone sees each task in great detail.
Loads of info and lots of quilts! You will love it! Registration is open at guaranteevac.com. You may register for Susan’s lecture/demo that is scheduled on Saturday, October 6, from 9:30 am – 12:30 pm as well as any of her other events for Friday and Saturday.
